Een tijdje geleden dacht ik ‘laat ik weer eens bij Yves Rocher bestellen’. Nouja, er kwam een folder met de aanbieding van een gratis XL sporttas bij de bestelling… Daar kon ik geen weerstand aan bieden 😉 Maar ik had ook daadwerkelijk wel weer eens wat spulletjes nodig, waaronder bodylotion. Ik heb er twee besteld, en één daarvan heb ik gelijk gereviewd. De andere is meer bestemd voor in de zomer, vandaar. De bodylotion die ik jullie deze week laat zien, is de Moisturizing Body Lotion van Yves Rocher.
Some time ago, I thought ‘hey, let’s order at Yves Rocher again’. Or rather, there was this thing going on of them giving a free XL size sports bag with an order… And of course I couldn’t resist 😉 But I did actually need some things, and one of those things was body lotion. I ordered two of those, and one of them I used immediately. The other one is aimed more towards summer, so that one will have to wait. The body lotion I’m showing you today is the Moisturizing Body Lotion by Yves Rocher.
De verpakking is, zoals bij de meeste Yves Rocher producten het geval is, redelijk simpel en heeft een heldere frisse uitstraling. Niet overdreven, maar gewoon strak en mooi. Bovendien zie je meteen de belangrijkste belofte van deze bodylotion; hij moet de huid goed hydrateren. Dat is eigenlijk alles wat ik zoek in een bodylotion, want mijn huid heeft niet meer nodig, zeker niet nu de lente weer begint en het echt koude weer wel ten einde is (voor dit jaar, in ieder geval). De verpakking vermeld ook dat deze bodylotion bedoeld is voor de normale huid.
Het product zelf is lichtroze, wat mij een bloemige en zoete geur doet verwachten. Overigens is op de fles te lezen dat het belangrijkste ingrediënt agave sap is, dus de kleur zal meer voor de show zijn dan om de ingrediënten te showen. Hoe dan ook; ik vind het een gezellig kleurtje om in de badkamer te hebben, nu het eindelijk lente is.
The packaging, as is the case on most Yves Rocher products, is relatively simple and has a nice and fresh feel to it. Nothing ‘too much’, just neat and pretty. Moreover, it immediately tells you the most important aspect of this body lotion; it’s supposed to be hydrating. That’s actually all that I’m looking for in a body lotion, seeing as my skin doesn’t really need anything else. Especially not now that it is springtime again, and the cold weather has ended (at least, until the end of the year). The packaging also says that this body lotion is meant for normal skin.
The product itself is a pale shade of pink, which makes me expect a flowery and sweet scent. However, according to the bottle the most important ingredient is agave juice, so the colour is probably meant to make it look nice, rather than to show off the ingredients. Anyway, I think it’s a very nice colour to have in the bathroom, now that it’s finally spring.
Als belangrijkste twee ingrediënten (dus bovenaan de lijst) staan water en glycerine. Iets vloeibaars en iets dat hydraterend is, dat is wel te verwachten in een bodylotion. Helaas staat het agave sap pas ergens halverwege, maar het zit er in ieder geval in. Wel zitten er ook siliconen en parabenen in, demethicone halverwege de lijst, en twee parabenen onderaan. Zelf heb ik hier geen problemen mee, maar als je voor echt natuurlijke producten wilt gaan dan is dit niet wat je zoekt.
Over het algemeen genomen vind ik de ingrediënten niet bijzonder, hoewel ik van Yves Rocher toch vaak wat interessantere ingrediëntenlijstjes zie. Nou is dit overigens geen special of iets dergelijks, zoals bijvoorbeeld de producten rond de Kerstdagen, dus daar kan het ook aan liggen.
The two most important ingredients (the ones at the top of the list) are water and glycerine. Something fluid and something that’s hydrating, so that’s pretty standard for a body lotion. The agave juice doesn’t show up until somewhere halfway on the list, but at least it’s in there. However, it also contains silicones and parabens. A silicone halfway on the list and two parabens at the bottom. I personally don’t have any issues with that, but this isn’t what you’re looking for if you want it to be as natural as possible.
As a whole, I don’t find the ingredients very interesting. Even though Yves Rocher does often have rather interesting ingredients in their products. Though it has to be notes that this body lotion isn’t a special edition or anything, unlike for example the products that get released around Christmas. So that might be the reason.
Maar goed, wat ik het interessantste vind is natuurlijk de werking. Ik heb deze bodylotion een paar keer na het douchen uitgeprobeerd, en hij bevalt prima. De geur is zoetig en plantaardig, ik vind het een lekker luchtje. En ook precies de goede sterkte voor dit type geur, niet te licht maar ook zeker niet te sterk. Waar ik in de winter graag zwaardere geurtjes heb (denk aan cacao en dergelijke), vind ik in het voorjaar en de zomer dit soort luchtjes juist heerlijk. Het doet me denken aan lekker buiten in de natuur zijn.
De consistentie van de lotion zelf is ook prima, redelijk dik en licht glibberig. Het zal niet van je handen af glijden, als je wat uit de fles knijpt blijft het een geheel. Maar bij het aanbrengen word duidelijk hoe glibberig het is, een beetje is genoeg voor een groot deel huid. Makkelijk aan te brengen, en er is goed zuinig mee om te gaan. Verder trekt het ook redelijk snel in, het blijft niet irritant lang op de huid liggen. Dat vind ik altijd belangrijk, want geduld is niet bepaald m’n sterkste punt 😉
Over de werking heb ik ook niets te klagen, na gebruik is mijn huid lekker zacht en voelt niet droog aan. Zeker na een lange douche heb ik vaak een trekkerig gevoel bij de huid rond m’n ellebogen, daar weet deze bodylotion prima raad mee. Breng het aan, en een paar minuutjes later is het perfect ingetrokken en is de huid weer happy. Precies wat ik van een goede bodylotion verwacht!
The most important part of the product is, of course, how well it does its job. I used this body lotion a few times after taking a shower, and I’d say it works fine. The scent is sweet and plant-like, I like it. And it has the exactly right intensity for his type of scent, not too light but especially not to strong. Although I love stronger scents during winter (things like cacao and such), in spring and summer I prefer scents like the one of this body lotion. It makes me think of being outside in nature.
The consistency of the lotion itself is good too, a bit thick and slippery. It won’t slip off your hands, when some is squeezed out of the bottle it stays in one piece. But when applying it, it becomes clear how slippery it is. A little bit is enough for a lot of skin. Easy to apply, and not much is needed. Also, it gets into the skin rather quickly, not leaving a layer for a long period of time. Which I think is a very important quality, as patience isn’t my strongest point 😉
I also don’t have any complaints about how it takes care of my skin, it’s soft and doesn’t feel dry at all after using this lotion. Especially after a long shower, the skin around my elbows tends to be rather dry. This body lotion takes care of that with ease. Just apply it, and a few minutes later the skin is happy again. Exactly what I’d expect of a good body lotion!
De Moisturizing Body Lotion met Agave sap van Yves Rocher kost ‘normaal’ €8,50 voor 200ml. We kennen allemaal Yves Rocher intussen wel; er is vrijwel altijd wel een aanbieding gaande. Zelf heb ik deze bodylotion voor ongeveer €5 gescoord, wat ik best goedkoop vind voor zo’n product. En eerlijk is eerlijk, ik vind het een heerlijke bodylotion voor de lente en zomer. Voor de winter zou ik hem misschien iets te licht vinden, en de geur vind ik gewoon beter bij lekker weer passen. Maar voor de komende maanden vind ik dit echt een aanrader!

I scored this body lotion for about €5, which I think is a very good deal for such a product. And truth be told, I love everything about it for springtime as well as summer. It might not be moisturising enough for winter, and moreover I prefer the scent during nicer weather. But for the upcoming months, I’d definitely recommend this one!
