Eigenlijk had ik nog nooit iets van dit merk uitgeprobeerd, en vond het ook niet zo interessant. Gewoon een budgetproof merk, dat kan ik toch ook gewoon in de Kruidvat krijgen? Dan is de stap toch wat hoger om het dan te bestellen (en de verzendkosten erbij te moeten betalen). Maar bij de Boozyshop hebben ze momenteel de leuke actie dat je bij een bestelling boven de €20 er een cadeautje van Sinterklaas bij krijgt! Perfect moment om weer eens wat nagellakjes aan te schaffen (komt ook nog een review van), en deze lippenstift kreeg ik er gratis bij!
I’d never tried anything by this brand before, and I honestly wasn’t too interested either. Just a budged-friendly brand, what is there that I couldn’t just get at the drugstore? Here in NL, it’s only available through the internet, so I’d have to order it which would mean shipping costs. But at the moment, Boozyshop (a Dutch webstore) has a special action where you get a gift on every order above €20! Perfect occasion to order some more nail polishes (which will be reviewed another time), and I got this lipstick for free!
De verpakking vind ik niet zo speciaal, hoewel ik de doorzichtige dop dan wel weer mooi vind. Nadeel; de huls zit dicht met een soort plakband. Wel hygiënisch, maar zo zonde dat het er nooit helemaal mooi vanaf komt. Altijd houd je wel restjes en plakkerigheid, en dat laat het product er gelijk een stuk minder mooi uit zien. Op de dop staat te lezen dat dit product SPF 15 bevat. Nou lijkt me dat nuttiger voor in de zomer (zo ver ik kon vinden komt hij ook origineel uit de lentecollectie van 2012), maar het is een leuke toevoeging.
Qua product zelf heb ik absoluut niks te klagen. Ergens had ik verwacht dat hij redelijk droog zou zijn (smalle stick, goedkoop), maar niets is minder waar! De lippenstift glijdt als boter over mijn lippen, en laat een mooie dekkende kleur achter. Hij heeft geen enkele smaak, dus je proeft hem niet. De houdbaarheid is ook prima, maar minder verassend. Hij houdt het een paar uurtjes mooi vol, maar een maaltijd overleeft hij niet.
The packaging isn’t anything special in my opinion, although I do like the see-through cap. One downside; the thing is taped shut. Hygienic, yes, but not so nice when you try to get it off and it leaves stickiness behind. Which always makes the product seem much less nice, sadly. According to the text on the cap, this product contains SPF 15. I do think I’d find that more useful in summer (well, this lipstick was originally part of the spring collection of 2012), but it’s a nice addition.
I really don’t have any complaints about the product itself. I’d thought it’d be rather dry (since it’s a narrow stick, and cheap), but that didn’t turn out to be true at all! The lipstick applies super smoothly, and leaves a beautiful and amazingly pigmented colour behind. It doesn’t have any taste, so no problems there either. Also, it lasts pretty well. It stays on for a few hours, but it won’t survive a meal.

Het kleurtje dat ik heb, is dus ‘368S’ oftewel ‘That’s Berry Beautiful’. Een donkere rode kleur met een hint van bruin. Ik vind hem chic en toch feestelijk staan, zo in de donkere herfst- en wintermaanden! Apart, voor een kleurtje uit een lentecollectie, dus ik ben blij dat ik hem pas in deze tijd ontdekt heb. Kan ik hem tenminste gelijk gebruiken 😉
Ik weet eerlijk gezegt niet of deze lippenstif nog verkrijgbaar is, maar als je hem ergens ziet en nog wilt hebben, dan zou ik vooral niet wachten! Het is een perfect kleurtje voor deze tijd van het jaar, en nog met een mooie kwaliteit ook 🙂
The colour I have, is ‘368S’ aka ‘That’s Berry Beautiful’. A dark red colour with a hint of brown. I think it looks both chic and party-like, during the fall and winter months! Surprising, for a colour originating from a spring collection, so I’m glad I didn’t get this lipstick until now. At least I can immediately wear it now 😉
I honestly don’t know for sure whether or not this lipstick still gets sold, but if you do spot it somewhere and want it, then I’d suggest you’d be quick to buy it! It’s a perfect colour for this time of year, and the formula is great also 🙂
